bluer skies
drone of planes diminished
clearer waters
man succumbs to virus
and the Earth breathes again
each in little squares
upon a glowing screen
we meet on Sundays
catch up on family news
and cook our covid dinners
twenty-twenty
without precedent
we fill our pantries
sow seeds into quiet earth
to the scent of fresh-baked bread
